What is the difference between raster and vectors?

We can categorise design files into two main types: raster and vector. Raster files comprise pixels, while vector files comprise mathematical equations that create shapes and lines.

Raster files are best for images and photographs. In contrast, vector files are better for logos, icons, and other designs that require crisp lines and shapes. In addition, vector files can be scaled up or down without losing quality, while raster files can become pixelated if they are enlarged too much.
