Safety margins refer to the space between the printed piece's edge and the design's outermost visible elements. This space is a buffer zone that ensures the design looks visually balanced and consistent. If essential elements, such as text or logos, are too close to the edge of the printed material, they may get cut off or look visually unbalanced.
In addition to safety margins, printing templates may include other guides for folding lines, perforation lines, non-printable areas, non-visible areas or the location where glue is applied.
