What is the difference between RGB and CMYK?

When converting an RGB image to CMYK, it is essential to understand that the colours will differ. This is because the range of colours that CMYK can produce is smaller than the range of colours that RGB can produce.

To give an example, consider a bright green colour created using RGB. When converting the image to CMYK, the colour may appear more muted and darker because it is created by mixing inks (mostly cyan and yellow). Mixing ink will always result in a darker or more muted colour, as opposed to mixing light, which results in a lighter colour.
